After capturing the PIAA Class 3A championship on Nov. 20, the Hampton Boys soccer team passed through Harrisburg as the Talbots returned home while celebrating their 1-0 victory against Archbishop Wood in the state title game.

The team on Wednesday, Feb. 9, returned to Pennsylvania's capital to be recognized and honored during sessions of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and State Senate.

Players and coaches also met with Representative Lori Mizgorski (30th Legislative District) and Senator Lindsey Williams (38th Senatorial District) during their visit, each receiving special citations for their state-title-winning accomplishment.

"What a great honor and experience for our boys soccer team to visit the Capitol in Harrisburg," said HTSD athletic director Bill Cardone. "To be honored in front of the House and Senate was truly something special that not many people get to experience. I think this is something that our players, coaches, and administrators will always look back on and remember."

The team was also provided with lunch and a tour of the Pennsylvania State Capitol Complex.

"I would also like to thank Senator Williams and Representative Mizgorski and their team for taking time out of their day to meet with our boys soccer team," Mr. Cardone said. "Thanks also to Lt. Governor John Fetterman for allowing us to tour his office."
